The Viral Core Facility offers Charité scientists and external academic scientists ("non-profit Organizations") services for the generation of viral particles. These viruses have developed into powerful tools in biomedical research and can be used to ectopically express proteins in cells or tissues and to deplete proteins by the expression of siRNA. The Institute of Pharmacology (AG Schupp) has now implemented their own expertise in regard to the generation of retro-and adenoviruses in the facility services.
